Moortown Golf Club
Moortown Golf Club is an Alister MacKenzie classic, built on the moorland in Yorkshire. It is known for having hosted The Ryder Cup, and is now still rated very highly, as 42nd best course in the country. The course itself appears to be inviting with large fairways, but missing the fairway, you will find much gorse and heather, punishing any bad shot. MacKenzie’s signature hole is the Par 3 10th, named Gibraltar due to the 158 yard hole being sited on a rocky plateau, is a truly great golf hole, and extremely picturesque. Being a MacKenzie course, Moortown is very well bunkered especially around the greens. A round here at Moortown is one of the must play courses in England.
